It’s Sunday Again
Check out the Altered Page for lost and found secrets. I do look forward to reading them each sunday. Today I made it to the studio by mid-day. Fun for me is the order of business. Playing with some altered books. Using gelatin prints and parts of other prints in some free fun altered books. Books are so open ended. Anything is possble. Enjoy! http://www.linda-germain.com/
Just Keep Creating! – It pays off.
Well I have been frustrated and distracted lately. But today is getting better. I did some writing and meditating early, and got to the studio with a vague plan of creating an accordion book. My guiding voice was saying. “just do it, try it…see what happens….it’s ok if it is not perfect. I made some tabs for the accordion pages and then I started printing some background paper for the back of the book. I am loving it. I used a small piece of old holey gelatin (a picture is include) and randomly printed over old pattern pieces that were randomly gessoed. Very nice to be in a happy place.
I want to remember – to just keep creating even when I feel frustrated, lost, confused, whatever. Enjoy!

Time to Print
Well I have had time to play with several diferent fabric paints and gelatin printmaking. I was printing on to an old cotton sheet and came up with a few prints that I am happy with. As so often happens, layer and layer and layer the inks on and the prints change dramaticly with each pass.
Giving myself gifts today
Today I went shoppong for a few tools to play with. I picked up some fabric paints, some wood glue, some heat-n-bond and embroidery thread. I am going to experiment with gelatin printing on fabric some more. I think that I need to try damp fabric and to change my expectations of the impressions that I will be able to make. I think I need to put down more ink or paint and have the process be more about abstract image than crisp, clean imagery.
