I have joined Jennifer Lee in her Right Brainers in Business Summit – 2014. She offers wisdom from a range of speakers for the next 14 days.  Check out the details.  Well, I did not think I had time to listen, but I was so inspired by Michael Port on Monday, that I am looking forward to the next few days.

Michael said, “the masters repeat.”  If you want to be a great dancer or piano player you practice, practice, practice.  This was so affirming, because that is how I feel about making monotypes.  To improve or gain printmaking skills, you must repeat, repeat, repeat.   I make many prints and to get a few that I like.  I try to encourage my students to do the same.

What about you?  Do believe practice and repetition  are necessary to obtain new skills?

  1. As a student of yours Linda, I have been encouraged to do just that and I feel that it is paying off! More to learn,of course, but you have given me the courage to experiment and practice and repeat to get the result I am looking for.
