Suggested Supplies for Printed Gifts – weekend workshop
- pile of incomplete prints
- tools for your preferred methods of printing be that gelatin printing, stamping or stenciling
- card stock or plain cards and envelops
- glue stick
- ruler, pencils, eraser and scissors
- cutting board
- self healing mat
- scrap paper, old phone book or newsprint
Panel project:
- piece of bubble wrap
- pin
- artist panel or other mounting board, I have made 3” square wooden blocks, used the back side of a display box.
- stack of books, or jug of water or other heavy weight
- wax paper
- double stick tape or
- good, PVA glue, that dries flat
- exacto knife and sharp blades
- pencil or colored pencils
- stain or paint if you need to finish the edge of the panel
- Frame if you are using a very flat panel
Botanical Prints Project:
- Gelatin plate,
- Black and cyan speedball ink
- brayer
- print paper or found papers
- variety of fresh and very flat leaves or grasses with interesting negative spaces
- alternatively You could use a couple of stencils to make a set of prints with a singular focus such as profile silouhettes.
Abstract Landscape Project:
- Pile of prints that have a range of value from very light to very dark
- alternatively you could make some textured prints that range in value from very light to very dark
- Gelatin plate
- printing inks
- brayer
- texture tools
- palette knife
Supplies for Framing
- Pre cut mats and frames to fit the size that you are cropping your prints 5 x 7, 8 x 10, 11 x 14, or other standard size that will work with your prints
- white gloves
- wide bristle brush
- glass cleaner
- cotton rags, paper towels
Access to
- Computer with high speed internet access
- Camera or phone with a camera will be helpful
