Printmaking and Painting just for the fun of it

Today I found a fun link http://www.jacksonpollock.org/ I just justed playing with the mouse and doodling. I am getting ready to teach Painting at Northen Essex Community College http://www.necc.mass.edu/collegeforkids/
The focus is going to be about painting for fun and for each artist/painter/child to listen to herself. I also came accross Empty Easel, which has a lot of good information about artists and the internet. http://emptyeasel.com/ I have been working on my site, little by little http://www.linda-germain.com/. It’s a process just like prints and painting. I just have to do the work day by day.

Perforated Prints – experimental Printmaking

Today I moved through the fears of not making prints that matter or that are good enough. I experimented with some gelatin prints that I had cropped down to a small book size. I used the sewing machine to draw lines of light. This monotype to the right is printed on both sides and can be viewed from both sides.

20 one minute drawings

Today in the studio, I have been playing with painting projects in preparation for the College for Kids Program at Northern Essex Community College, Haverhill, MA For more info: http://www.necc.mass.edu/collegeforkids/ I came up with a few fun ideas. 20 self portrait drawings done in 1 minute each. We will play with different papers, and drawing tools. Then lay them all out and crop as needed and accent with paint. What fun.
