Today I  was filling the well as Julia Cameron would say.  I went to the Boston Public library to see a printmaking exhibit by Mixit Print Studio in Somerville, MA.

I thought I had missed it but I go in just before it closes tomorrow.   There was such a range of printmaking styles and techniques to be inspired by.  There were installations, books, small prints, large prints and everything in between.  There was even two gelatin prints by Tamar Etingen.  It made me want to go check out their studio and see where it all happens.  ahhh a trip for another day.

Just a reminder I have only a couple  of spaces left for the August gelatin printmaking workshop.  Here are the details:

Gelatin Prints – Play for the Day

Sat, August 25th, 2012
10 AM to 3 PM
93 Essex St.
Haverhill, MA
$65. – Includes most supplies All are welcome.

The focus of this class is gelatin plate monoprints with masking stencils and stamping tools. It is a wonderfully experimental process that gives results that vary from the abstract to the photographic.  The soft malleable gelatin is covered with ink, and then marks are made in the ink with found objects and stencils.  Once you have experimented with the materials you can start to focus on combining methods to create a series of pleasing prints. Space it limited – to reserve your spot – email Linda Germain Lgermainart@gmail.com
