Gelatin Printing @ Haystack with Maine Craft

Back from Haystack.  Oh  so hard to leave that wonderful place.  We had a fantastic group of artists who wanted to play with printmaking.  What a gift the weekend was.  I am so grateful that the Maine Craft Association invited me to teach this year.   I guided a very talented group artists in gelatin printmaking and bookmaking.  We started with a demo and what I call “gelatin-printmaking-yoga”.  This was the first time that I did this process with a group and I am happy to say that it was well received.   It is basically a short guided printing session, where every listens and prints in silence and follows my voice.  The intent is to create some muscle memory around the printing steps.  I hope to share an audio recording about the process very shortly.
Today, I buzzed down to FPAC to install, my perfectly imperfect, artists books exhibit.  This show opens Thursday and features me and 18 of my colleagues from the Artist’s Professional Tool Box.  Join me Thursday night for the opening reception. Check out the details here RISKY BUSINESS

  1. As one of your students at your gelatin printmaking class at Haystack – I have to say this: FABULOUS!!
It was one of the best workshops I have taken and I think that had to do with your print and pull yoga session at the beginning. We all loved it. I am pumped up for printing tomorrow!
It sure WAS hard leaving Haystack.
    Thank you, Linda.
