Saturday I went to a talk by Adria Arch about golden acrylics at the Rocky Neck Cultural Center in Gloucester. And I got this goody bag of paints and mediums to try. I am really excited to try the open acrylics with the gelatin plate and see how I like it. But off to the farm to plant seedlings first.

When I went on an overseas residency I wanted to be able to both print by hand and to paint. I took Golden Open with me and actually preferred them for the printing. When you paint with them, I found that a new layer re-wets the layer below, even the next day. Not used to that with acrylics. But hand printing was terrific, especially on Japanese washi as it is absorbent.
