Just Keep Creating! – It pays off.

Well I have been frustrated and distracted lately.   But today is getting better.  I did some writing and meditating early, and got to the studio with a vague plan of creating an accordion book.  My guiding voice was saying. “just do it, try it…see what happens….it’s ok if it is not perfect. I made some tabs for the accordion pages and then I started printing some background paper for the back of the book.  I am loving it.  I used a small piece of old holey gelatin (a picture is include) and randomly printed over old pattern pieces that were randomly gessoed.  Very nice to be in a happy place.

I
want to remember – to just keep creating  even when I feel frustrated, lost, confused, whatever. Enjoy!

  1. Go for it Linda!

My mouldy gelatine plate will be out of the fridge when I get home from work and will be worked hard. I noticed yesterday that it has frozen on the back edge – could be some intersting prints coming up!

  2. Thanks for the comments, links and ideas.
Sandra, Well if your paper sticks to the gelatin – Do you keep it in the refrigerator? I would. Did you use enough gelatin? Is the plate strong enough to pick up with out falling apart? What kind of paper are you using? try other papers – I found that some of the nice thin printmaking papers do stick too much. Everyday is different as you know with the weather. For me the most absorbent papers have been masa paper and other sulphite papers. I hope that helps. Send me a picture of the paper sticking as you peel it off maybe I can come up with some other ideas.
