FAQ – Printed Gifts – online printmaking course

When does the class start?

This class is not open for registration.

What supplies do I need?

Check out the Suggested supplies for Printed Gifts – weekend workshop.

How is the content delivered?

Great question.  Once you register you will receive the link and password to the private classroom with immediate access to all the lesson.

I believe that the best way for you to improve your skills is to try out many compositions. So the videos are short and meant to inspire you to action.

Questions can be asked and answered in the classroom or on the private Facebook Group.  The Facebook Group can be a rich supportive resource that I suggest you become a part of, but it is not required.  It is quite simple to be part of the group.  You just need a personal profile and then I can add you to the group.  There is no need to “friend” people.

Do the videos have subtitles?

(The videos do not have subtitles, but there is a simple way of adding them if you use Chrome as your browser. It is easy to set up. The ‘Live Caption’ setting then adds English subtitles. You can find out how to set it up here.)

What type of computer or online skills do I need to participate?

You will need high speed internet access so that you can stream videos.  All group conversations will be on a private Facebook page.  You do not have to join the Facebook group but it will contain valuable discussions and learning.

How are payments handled?

Paypal and major credit cards through pay pal.

Who is this class for?

The Printed Gifts weekend printmaking workshop is for folks who are familiar with the basic techniques of gelatin printing, stamping and stenciling and who want to build their compositional skills to create finished prints.

Does the class meet at a certain time?

After the daily videos and lessons are released around 8 AM EST, you will be able to access the information at any time that is convenient to you.

Does it matter what part of the world am I in?

You can be where you are and that is perfect. I am on the East Coast of the United States.

How much time is required each day?

Hmmm. Required is a strong word. You get out of it what you put into it.

So that said, nothing is ever required. My hope is that you will be able to use this course to commit extra time to your art practice – maybe 2 to 3 hours per lesson.

I am hoping that you will take some of the exercises and suggestions to create finished work that you want to display, share or sell.

How long will I have access to the materials?

You will be able to download all material so that you could access them for as long as you would like. The Printed Gifts course site will remain available to you for 6 months after the class ends.  The private Facebook group could be active for as long as participants choose.

What happens after I register for the course?

Thank-You and Welcome!

Very shortly you will receive more information about gathering your supplies.   Shortly before the start day you will receive password and access to the class website, and facebook page.
