31 Monotype prints – a daily printmaking practice

Monotype print by Linda Germain on the glycerin plate

I did it!  I made and shared a print a day for the Month of May.  I benefited from this daily printmaking practice.  Some of my take aways:

  • Done is better than perfect
  • Action has magic, power and grace
  • Celebrate the little successes
  • It is ok to explore limited themes, colors or marks
  • Daily doing builds “muscles”

If you would benefit from the daily practice then check out the current workshops that are being offered.

  1. Congratulations and well done Linda. I will have to try this next year. What with moving house and an unexpected visit to hospital this wasn’t going to work for me. Sad face.

  2. Loved being part of your journey! I am going to try the same for June. I know it doesn’t rhyme but it is all about making prints, isn’t it?

  3. Hi Linda
I’ve been away on holiday and am just catching up on stuff. I’d love to see all your May Monotypes, but can only work out how to see Recent Posts which only go back a few days. Also when I look at other posts, if I click on a link it throws me back to the Home page asking me to sign up even though it then recognises me as having already signed up.

(I got three of my monotypes in an exhibition later this month! Yeah!!)

  4. Yeah, Linda! Thank you for sending this inspiring link in your email. “Done is better than perfect.” I needed to read that. TW

  5. You may have just moved to the top of my list of personal heroes., Linda. This is the kind of challenge that I intuitively know will move me past my resistance to begin my print-making journey. My inner critic typically wins the day with too harsh judgments about my creative output. Will post your credo: “Done is better than perfect” and begin tomorrow, June 3.
