I just love this stencil that I used for today’s gelatin plate monotype print. I was surprised because it is so simple, but I think that it is expressive.

- index card
- thread lines in the under layer
- random writing in graphite
- magenta background
I did something new.
- To get the writing just inside the shape,
- I placed a stencil over the gelatin plate monotype print to block out the magenta area.
- Then I wrote from edge to edge.
I think it works. I wanted it to flow naturally not look forced.
