Drawing for Inspiration

I don’t love drawing, and I often search for something to draw.  I do love loose expressive line and charcoal.  I wish that I had a habit of drawing in my practice.  It feels like a chore.  But I usually do get a payoff when I do draw.  When I come back to the sketch a day or two later, I am often pleasantly pleased.  I am inspired by those who commit to their drawing practice.  Do you have a regular drawing practice?  Do you enjoy it?  What do you draw?  Inspire me Please.

  1. I dó love drawing but sometimes I spend my time listening to my inner critic instead of drawing…
What I did do to overcome this: on january 1st I’ve started to draw a face a day and post it on my blog. It helps!

  2. I’m inspired by you – your print work and frequency of posting to your blog (I’ve been such a blog slacker lately). I’ve found it helpful to keep some sort of mark-making stuff with me at all times so I can take advantage of those short periods when I’m waiting or something catches my eye. I just tell myself I’ll draw for five or ten minutes or so. It usually ends up being longer and sometimes I actually like what I draw!
